I am blessed and humbled to serve alongside the   Fellowship of Christian Athletes in East Alabama. The Lord has been gracious enough to call me to stay in the community of Auburn, AL, where I have lived since 2005. The opportunity to live life and grow closer to Christ with the people, teachers, coaches, and school systems that I grew up with is now a reality that humbles me each and every day. I get the blessing to understand, through direct and personal experience, the struggles of athletes and coaches in this area of Alabama. Studying Physical Activity and Health for Physical Education at Auburn University only solidified the call that the Lord had placed in my heart to reach students and athletes in grade school through the platform of sports.

King David states in Psalm 4:7, “For you, O Lord, have filled my heart with greater joy”. This verse has become a vital key in my personal ministry as I reach athletes in our area. The largest, and greatest, part of what I am honored to do here in East Alabama is to serve, encourage, and disciple young women in grade school. Each and every day I have the blessing of meeting with these incredible young women of God, walking through seasons of sowing and reaping, the good and the bad. My goal is to equip these young ladies with the knowledge and wisdom to stand firm in the face of trials and to realize that God’s goodness and provision is perfect and complete for them. I pray that each student I come into contact with realizes the joyful strength that is their’s to obtain through a daily surrender to the Cross.

It is the greatest privilege of my life to walk continuously with these young women and athletes, and my prayer daily is that I would continue in this position for as long as the Lord calls me to. It is all through God’s grace that He has allowed me this position, and I thank you for your support both financially and prayerfully. To God alone be the glory forever and ever.

Katie is excited and honored for the opportunity to serve as the Administrative Assistant for the East Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has been involved, in some capacity, with FCA since middle school. She believes in the mission and values of FCA and longs to see Jesus Christ exalted throughout the East Alabama community. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Human Resources Management. Her ministry here consists of providing the background support that propels the ministries of the field staff.

She is newly married to her husband, Brandon, and together they seek to exemplify Jesus Christ through their marriage and service to others.

Field Ambassador

It has been an honor and privilege to work alongside the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for several years. I have been the Chaplin of our local football and softball team for over 10 years. Officially being on staff with FCA, my opportunities to lead and serve athletes and coaches will be even greater.

At the age of 17, I gave my life to Christ and became a born again believer. From that moment, my life and purpose began to change and shift. Over the next several years, I would discover my heart and passion for seeing young people come to know Jesus. I graduated from Southeastern University with a degree in ministry and a minor in psychology. After graduating, I served for 13 years as a student pastor.

I am married to Jessica Taylor and we have 2 beautiful children: Grace and Oliviya

It’s exciting to see where God is leading in this next adventure while serving in Sports Ministry with FCA. My hope is, God is opening this door to greater relationships with students and also coaches.

Thank you for your prayers and your financial support. One of the greatest quotes I’ve heard came from a local missionary pastor in Rwanda named Jean Baptiste. He said, “You may never see the fruit of what you have to offer on this Earth, but the reward in the future will be much greater than you can imagine.”

I became a believer and follower of Jesus Christ at the young age of 11. Since then, I have learned the beautiful way God designed our salvation through a relationship with His son Jesus. I live by 1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, and He will lift you up in His good timing.” This ministered to me through sports as I played softball and was a cheerleader at Huntingdon College until I graduated in 2018. After that, the same scripture ministered to me as I began my path into teaching the most wonderful and challenging 6th graders at Millbrook Middle School. In 2019, God used the same scripture to confirm me into His calling into full-time ministry in FCA. It was a hard and painful choice to neglect the successes I believed I was experiencing and choose God. The Lord ministered to me once more through 1 Peter 5 with verse 10. It says, “After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace who has called you in His eternal glory, with empower, strengthen, confirm, and restore you. I am confident that FCA is the platform God created me to minister to children through the lens of sports.

In alignment with John 3: 30, I am faithfully laying down my life, strengths, and ambitions, to take on God’s plan for my life through FCA. As a former Christian athlete, my heart beats to lead young women in grade school in a relationship with the Lord. I lived through the sports industry telling me to make my name known through my ability alone. I want to combat that in the girls of East Alabama.

Discipleship is such a vital way the Lord grows the human heart and has been since the beginning of time. Your financial support will provide that for the girls of East Alabama. It will legally bring the gospel into the schools in a way no other ministry has the ability to do. It will change the lives of boys and girls who are in desperate need of someone to lead them into a relationship with the Lord and then walk through life with them as they learn what that means.
